Russell Herbert
Rev Dr Russell Herbert

Russell is the Superintendent Minister for the Gordano Valley Circuit. He has specific responsibility in Clevedon for Kenn Road Methodist Church and is on the team at Christchurch Methodist-Anglican Partnership. He is married to Tamara and they have three children.

Russell felt a strong call to ministry when he was just 17, following life-changing experiences of the Holy Spirit. He studied theology before serving as a youth worker in Essex and then a lay pastoral worker in Newton Abbot. Before coming to Clevedon in 2007 he served eight years as a minister in the Ringsash Circuit in mid-Devon.

Russell has a passion for renewal and evangelism among all ages. He says: "Every Christian should have a 'whole-life faith', in which everything is based on a personal relationship with God."

Clive & Mandy Jennings

Rev Clive Jennings

Clive is married to Mandy and they have two adult children. He has leadership responsibility for Christchurch L.E.P.within the United Benefice Anglican team.

Clive was a police officer for 23 years serving in many exciting spheres of policing when a powerful encounter with the power of the Holy Spirit arrested his attention, a bit of a Damascus Road experience. As a result he had a dramatic and unexpected call to full time ordained ministry. Ask him to share his story with you, he will tell you he didn't give in easily yet as the great boxer Joe Lewis once said ' you can run but you can't hide' and that was certainly his experience.

He trained locally at Trinity College Bristol and after a short Curacy in Weston Super Mare he was asked to return to Christ Church which was then an Anglican Church and together with his longstanding Methodist friend the Revd Tim Daniel and with two very encouraging and supportive congregations they saw the vision of one Church, Christchurch Methodist / Anglican Ecumenical Partnership take shape and birthed into life.

Clive has an energy and passion to meet people where they are and encourage them into a deep personal and living relationship with Jesus. 'I am a very practical person, I know my roots and I know from my own experience that nothing is impossible with God'.

Kate Dommett

Kate Dommett

Kate is married to Pete and they have 3 children Martha, Will and Tom. She has been coordinating the work with children, young people and young families at Christchurch since Sept 2012. Prior that she was a primary school teacher.

When asked about her job Kate said 'it is a privilege and a real joy doing the work I do. I love it! I meet so many amazing families and young people in so many different contexts. I have the opportunity to go into schools in our community and work with the other youth workers in the town doing projects together. I am so excited about all that God is doing in our community and believe that the church is an integral part of that.'

Andy Davis
Andy Davis

Andy Davis is the Director of Music at Christchurch and oversees all aspects of music in worship. He is married to Helen and has 3 children. He currently teaches drums, percussion and popular music at Clifton College and enjoys playing football when the opportunity arises.

Having been a chorister for 15 years, Andy became involved in more contemporary and informal worship whilst at St.Andrew's, Clevedon where he was a member of the congregation for 25 years.

As a drummer, he could hide at the back and avoid getting too involved! God had a different plan and Andy felt a calling to start to lead from the front playing guitar.

Andy was offered the post of DoM at Christchurch a little while after he and the family had become members of the congregation there. He has a passion for helping provide fresh offerings of worship and allowing others to explore how they worship through music. He is just as at home with traditional worship music as modern but likes to create a breadth of space that allows all to be able to meet God through music and worship Him.

Donna and Dave

Donna Wilkie

Hi, I'm Donna and I'm married to Dave we also have a wonderful daughter.

I came to faith in my mid twenties, my faith was sealed when I had a powerful experience of the Holy Spirit. My previous background is that of planning and engineering, working both for the public and private sector.

I'm the curate at Christchurch and love being part of the community here. There are so many wonderful people: the parents and little ones at toddler groups; the young people in the schools, and all the faithful saints in the church here.

I feel very blessed to be part of this community. I view community and relationships as very important as well as prayer to impact ourselves and the community around us. I'm excited and expectant as to what God wants to do here and is indeed already doing here and I want to be part of that.

I believe in the bigness of God, including when that breaks through to our experience of signs, miracles and wonders. But I also want to see God in the smaller things 'do not despise the day of small beginnings' (Zech 4:10), giving thanks for these and experiencing the joy of them.

Will Alvarez

Will Alvarez

I have just finished my degree in Environmental Science and despite my previous ambition to do a Masters in Sustainability Science in Sweden this September, God clearly had other ideas and I am now doing a year long youth ministry internship at Christchurch! I have to admit this did come quite out of the blue and am still trying to work out why God has put me here, although I know I will just have to trust patiently and see what God has in store for me as this year enfolds! The only thing I know is that I will keep listening to what the Holy Spirit wants me to do and obey it straight away, hopefully to stop me getting into a mess like Jonah was in! I think it would be quite inconvenient if I were to be swallowed by a fish. I pray that God blesses the youth here at Christchurch throughout this year and that we can all grow in faith together... and if anyone ever fancies a game of table tennis, I am always ready for a challenge!
