Christenings / Baptisms, Thanksgivings & Dedications of Children
As a church for all ages and stages, we encourage those who are thinking about Baptism /Christening, dedication or thanksgiving of a child to come along and be part of the church family.
Once people feel part of the church then parent(s) are encouraged to have a chat with one of the ministers to talk through matters of faith and the commitment they are seeking to make on behalf of their children.
For some people, this takes a few months as our ministers are keen that families take time to think through and consider this lifelong decision so we wouldn’t be able to arrange a date with you yet. However, we can arrange a date once this time of attendance, conversation, prayer and consideration has taken place.
We frequently find that families who come along to find out about Christchurch remain as regular attending members of our church family and their children grow up within the faith to which they have been Baptised.
You might be particularly interested in our monthly F@CT (Families @ Christchurch Together) Service which is only 45 mins long and is very informal and huge fun for young children – it starts at 10am on the first Sunday of each month.
Adult Baptism
There is no cost for a Baptism/ Christening, dedication or thanksgiving service as it takes place within our normal Sunday Morning Worship.
