Evan’s Prayer

Lord, we Confess our sins.  We are sorry Lord when we have treated your Church little more than a paid members club rather than an outpouring of your grace and love to each other and to others.

Lord, we ask you to rid us of anything in our life that gets in the way of our relationship with you. Covetousness, jealousy, greed, envy, selfishness, hard-heartedness and judgement over others.

Open us to receive your Holy Spirit.  Would you do that now Lord wherever we are, maybe we will hold out our hands and ask for that, would you come now in the power of your Holy Spirit and make your presence peace and power be tangible in life-changing and life-giving ways for us

And lord would you show us how to share may we not only share what we have but more importantly Lord may we share you with others and declare your name in the community so that all may know you Jesus as Saviour and Lord.

And in a moment Lord we bring before you those who are in need of your healing touch, maybe ourselves, come Holy Spirit, would you come and make yourself known in the various situations in which we find ourselves today (and you may want to name some of those people now, name them before the Lord now).

Bring healing and hope into lives we pray.

And in gratitude Lord, we pray the prayer that you gave to us and shared with us

In Jesus’ name. Amen

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours
now and for ever.
